Grief Support
Community grief support is a vital part of the Friends of Hospice mission, offering comfort and connection to anyone grieving a loss.
Whether or not the loss was connected to hospice care, all are welcome to find solace and understanding within our support groups.
Grief is a natural and deeply personal response to loss, and everyone experiences it in their own unique way. Our groups provide a safe, compassionate space where individuals can share their journey, explore their emotions, and receive support from others who understand the complexities of grief.
These grief support groups are offered free of charge, ensuring accessibility for anyone in need. By fostering connection, understanding, and emotional support, Friends of Hospice is dedicated to helping individuals navigate the journey of grief with compassion and care.

Our grief support services are designed to:
Provide a safe and supportive environment for sharing and healing:
Grieving can feel isolating, but our groups offer a community where participants can express their feelings openly and without judgment. By sharing experiences, individuals often find comfort in knowing they are not alone in their journey.
Foster understanding of the grief process:
Grief can be confusing and overwhelming. Our support groups offer guidance to help participants understand the natural stages and emotions of grief, empowering them to navigate their unique path with greater clarity and acceptance.
Encourage connection and mutual support:
Through shared stories and experiences, participants can build meaningful connections with others who understand their struggles. These relationships often provide strength and encouragement, creating a sense of belonging during a time when many feel alone.
Promote emotional healing and resilience:
While grief is a deeply personal process, engaging in a supportive community can help individuals process their emotions and begin to find peace. Over time, participants may develop the resilience to cope with their loss and move toward healing.
